If you are paying the fare for a single ride, give the bus driver exactly $2 cash when you get on the bus. Multi-ride punch passes can be purchased with bus drivers or at our Operations Building at 1022 Railroad Street, Watertown NY 13601. Cash and exact fare only. Bulk tokens and pass purchases may be paid for by check.

The fare for a single ride (one-way) is $2. Multi-ride punch passes are available at a discounted rate: 20 Rides – $36, 30 Rides – $53, 40 Rides – $68.

After paying the fare on the first bus, tell the bus driver which bus you need to transfer to and they will write you a transfer pass. Then give the transfer pass to the bus driver of your next bus. Transfer passes must be used within 60 minutes of the time they are issued. Transfer passes may only be used on Jefferson County Public Transit and are non transferable to CitiBus, St. Lawrence County Public Transit, Lewis County Public Transit, or any other transportation line.

Jefferson County Public Transit allows trained animals that accompany individuals with disabilities. It is required to have the animal be under the rider’s control (leashed or unleashed), and remain with the rider without obstructing space for others. We maintain the right to exclude a service animal if it is not under control, is disruptive, or poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted on board our vehicles or inside our facilities.

Yes! All our public transportation buses are ADA accessible. Each bus is equipped with a lift.

Please refrain from consuming food and beverages of any kind while on board our public transit vehicles. Closed beverage and food containers are permitted on board but may not be consumed while on the vehicle. Thank you for helping to keep our buses clean for everyone!

Please arrive fifteen minutes before the bus’s scheduled arrival time. Buses may run late due to traffic or weather conditions.

Although we do not discriminate against any person, we reserve the right to refuse transportation to any person under the influence of intoxicating substances. Passengers not wearing shirts or footwear will be denied transportation. All riders are expected to obey the guidance provided in the Code of Conduct.

Consuming alcohol, using controlled substances, vaping, and smoking on buses, at bus stops, and in our facilities is prohibited.

You may wave down the bus anywhere along a street that a bus is traveling; the bus will stop along the route as long as it is safe to pull over. The driver will not stop near corners, on steep hills, or other hazardous areas.
Passengers may board buses with items that can be carried in a single load. Passengers may not board and exit a bus multiple times to load their belongings. All items must be stored in an overhead compartment or on a person’s lap. These items may not use multiple seats, block an aisle, or stairway.
